How do you make media player classic disable the screensaver and prevent monitor from shutting down?

It's the latest version of MPC for windows xp being used on vista. looked through all the options and setting and couldn't find the option. is the only way to just turn your screensaver to none, and change power options of the moniter, all outside the program? How do you make media player classic disable the screensaver and prevent monitor from shutting down?
Unless you have a laptop with manufacturer's or 3rd party utility that automatically goes into a different mode for AC power or DVD's, you likely have to do it manually. If you have an ';always on'; or ';presentation'; mode set up to not go into any power saving modes that can make it easier to switch. Otherwise you need to move your mouse occasionally.
