Is anyone an expert with windows xp? i need some professional help?

I was downloading a patch for a game and i believe there was a prtty bad virus and i caught it before it did too much damage but now i cant change my screensaver or background. the entire tab for both are gone! i have tried all the basic stuff for finding it but i dont know how to get them back please help me, this is a very frustrating problemIs anyone an expert with windows xp? i need some professional help?
You may perform a registry tweak/hack in order to restore the disabled tab.

1. Run ';Regedit';.

2. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\policies

3. If you see a folder (key) ';ActiveDesktop'; select it. If not, make a new key and label it ';ActiveDesktop';.

4. If you see ';NoChangingWallPaper';, double-click the DWORD value and set it to ';0';. Otherwise, you need to create a new DWORD value of ';NoChangingWallPaper'; and set it to ';0';.

5. Try changing your wallpaper. If this fix doesn't solve the problem, you may also need to make the above registry changes at location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies . Is anyone an expert with windows xp? i need some professional help?
You didn't stop it at all, it did all the damage it intended.

Download %26amp; run AVG http://avgfree.com
I advise you to download the anti virus Nod32. It's gonna remove the virus that plays with your running application.

It happened to me three days ago. I was using AVGfree but It couldn't remove the Worm (virus)

Then I downloaded NOD32 and it removed the worm in my laptop.

contact computer experts at ';http://www.symantec.com'; start chat with someone tell your problem they will know the virus with that function and provide you with the suitable removal tool
