What exactly is wrong with my computer and how do I fix it!?

ok, so Avast is giving me this warning:

--------------------------------------?br>
';A suspicious hidden object (rootkit) has been detected on your system. This may be a sign of a malware infection. It is recommended to remove the object immediately.';

File name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\wzghui.sys

Type: Rootkit: hidden process

--------------------------------------?br>
I've already taken all the recommended actions and have not made any progress at all. Also, every time I log onto my account, my desktop background changes to an image that reads:

';Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer.';

In addition to that, the screensaver is automatically changed to something called ';blackster';. (basically it's just a bunch of bugs crawling on the screen eating away at the background image....kinda creepy.)

Any help with the situation would be great.What exactly is wrong with my computer and how do I fix it!?
Try both of these programs. They are both free.

You likely have the Backdoor.Rustock rootkit which will be hiding much more bad stuff.

Get antirootkit (free from sophos) and i think there is a windows rootkit remover also. You should also start doing your scans in safe mode (avg, adaware, hijackthis), and not use messenger progs / type any personal information on your computer until this is fixed. Also, never buy or download anything that your computer (via the malware) suddenly tells you too!
hi that one kid, bugs is a nasty business what i would do is first remove avast. then i would reboot and when you see your logo come up i would start tapping f8 then when the screen shows last time system ran correctly hit it and your half way home. when you are back at your desktop hit start%26gt;programs%26gt;accessories%26gt;and system tools scrol down to system restore and hit before you installed avast or before the error and hit apply. this will reboot and with any luck it will get rid of those pesty critters. but if it don't take your computer to a computer repairman and tell him that he needs to format your harddrive. i usually recommend that you save your work but if you do ya might carry the virus to the next install and you don't want this. hope i have been helpful good luck. sorry about your virus.
