Screen Saver Question?

Usually in order to access screen saver settings you go into the classic control panel, click on appearance and themes and then there's something to click that says screen saver. That's not the case on my computer. I got a virus about 6 months ago that changed my desktop background to something saying that I had a virus. Since then, there hasn't been an option in control panel to change my desktop background or my screensaver. I can change my background by simply right clicking and clicking set as desktop background. However, I can't do this with a screensaver and all that happens when i don't touch the mouse is that the computer waits for about 15 minutes and then the screen goes straight to power save mode. How do i fix this? Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Screen Saver Question?

Hello,

In addition to the previous post; have you have installed a decent virus/malware scanner, such as Avast or Avira?

Avast free Home Edition: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Home-Edit

Avira AntiVir Personal - Free: http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-P
Which OS?

if your running windows 2000 you can repair the operating system files by booting up the disk.
