I need to change the computer screen from landscape to portrait - how can I do this?

It's Windows XP - and before you suggest file, changing the page setting etc - it's not to print. The whole screen, screensaver, file menu, etc are all sideways. When you open a window, it too is sideways.

Someone set it as a joke and now we can't change it back.I need to change the computer screen from landscape to portrait - how can I do this?

It's not the screen you want to change, it's the picture itself, what you need to do is to go to where the picture is, click on the picture and and just to the left of the red X is two small green icon, which is also to the left of what looks like magnifying glasses. click on one of those and the picture should right itself. If it goes upside down keep clicking until the picture is where it's suppose to be.
There are a couple of possible reason for this

Firstly - there is a Virus that does what you describe, can't remember the name of it, but do a virus scan first

Secondly - Some monitors have the facility to work in Landscape or Portrait mode, %26amp; usually you will find that a piece of software has been installed that allows this to happen - unfortunately different monitor manufacturers do thing differently so I cannot tell how to find it

Thirdly - Some video drivers ALSO have this facility. I cannot tell you how using ATI graphic cards, but with Nvidia cards (with latest drivers installed) follow these steps

%26gt;Right click anywhere on the desktop %26amp; you MAY see ' Nvidia Control Panel' - Select this

%26gt;Click on 'Rotate Display' option on the left, %26amp; you should have 4 options - Select the 'No Rotation' option

If you DO NOT see 'Nvidia Control Panel' when you right click on desktop then

%26gt;Right click anywhere on the desktop

%26gt;Click 'properties'

%26gt;Click 'Settings' tag

%26gt;Click [Advanced] button

%26gt;Click on the tag that shows your graphic card (e.g. 'Geoforce 8600')

%26gt;Click on [Start the Nvidia Control Panel] button

Follow the steps from 'Click on rotatr display' above
