How can i customise my Laptop?

I wish to fully customise my Vista Operating System. Like change my mouse design, background, screensaver operating sounds. Sure yanno yourself. How can i do this?

How can i customise my Laptop?
Customise anything and everything on Vista if you like, but animated cursors and fancy windows take up processing for very little effect, and only you ever see them! - better off customising your actual laptop; try finding a 'skin' for your model. You won't have a unique machine, but it'll be unusual and rare!

How can i customise my Laptop?
You can either click-Start-Control Panel and then Mouse and others there

Why has my System Administrator disabled my display?

I used to be able to switch my screensaver when ever I wanted to. I would right click on the main screen, go to Properties and make the changes. Now I can't do it anymore. I have a new girlfriend...and my ex's photo is now my screensaver. I tried to change the photo today and got this message: YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR HAS DISABLED THE DISPLAY.'; How do I get access back...and take this photo off my screen?Why has my System Administrator disabled my display?
if this is your workplace computer then contact the system administrator. if this is your home computer then it's time to start scanning for whatever virus has just hosed your computer. if your new girlfriend has a cow over a screensaver that you cant change, might wanna get a new girlfriend too.Why has my System Administrator disabled my display?
You must destroy the computer. Quickly! Before she sees it.

    BATCH FILE: how do I read 3 lines of a text file into variables?

    I know that I need to use the ';for'; keyword. All of the sites I found previously were confusing. Say on the desktop (it will not be on the desktop, but for simplicity's sake...) I have a file called CONFIG.txt and it contains three lines:

    12

    15

    no

    How do I get a batch file (also on the desktop for simplicity's sake) to read the values into environment variables? For example, VAR0 would contain ';12'; (no quotes), VAR1 would contain ';15';, and VAR2 would contain ';no';? Later in the program, I will do the following (the :: prefixes are not in the batch, but are used to clarify the start of each line thanks to Yahoo! Answers' funky wordwrap, in addition, the // is used to denote a comment as in C, although THIS IS A BATCH, NOT C):

    ::SET /A VN0=%VAR0% //sets VN0 to the val of the 1st line in CONFIG.txt

    ::SET /A VN1=%VAR1% //sets VN1 to the val of the 2nd line in CONFIG.txt

    ::SET /A VN1+=%VN0% //increases VN1 by VN0

    ::SET /A VNT=%RANDOM% %% %VN1% //RND# from (0)~(VN1-1)

    ::IF %VNT% LEQ %VN0% ECHO %VAR2%// is RND# less/eq to VN0?

    in other words, my batch file should take a random number between 0 and 1 less than the sum of the first 2 lines of a text file, and then compare the random value to the first line again. if the random value is less than or equal to the value in the first line of CONFIG.txt, then it will ECHO what is in the third line.

    Thanks for your help, I'm making a BATCH to change your Wallpaper, Screensaver, et cetera at each logon, but with many functions and options. If I can finish the BATCH (as in if I can figure out this speedbump) then I will put my stable version 4.0.0.0 for public download, as well as any updates I make. Thank you for your time in answering my question. My email address is emailmeatthisaddr@yahoo.com if you are interested in the BATCH or if you have any SUGGESTIONS FOR FEATURES, please email me. Hi,

    Not sure about reading different lines into variables, but if you replace line breaks with ';;'; (ie your file looked like ';12;15;no';) then the following will work:

    set var0=

    set var1=

    set var2=

    for /f ';tokens=1,2,3 delims=;'; %%a in (CONFIG.txt) do (set var0=%%a %26amp; set var1=%%b %26amp; set var2=%%c)

    Joke Bluescreen Fixes... Where?!?!?

    Alright, so it started when out of the blue (no pun intended lol) my desktop became the blue desktop that says ';Warning! Spyware detected!'; and informed me to install antivirus/spyware. It just so happened that Antivirus XP 2008 popped up at that time... so um, what a load of bull huh. Well I deleted that thing right away, took all the shortcuts, removed all the files (I followed the shortcut link line and deleted the main file). I had lots of issues getting rid of the desktop, but I was able to do that with extensive searching and killing of files. Now my main issue is that I believe it's still disabling auto updates from Microsoft whenever I start my PC up, and that the buttons to change my desktop/screensaver are gone in the control panel, and also the tabs of the same thing are gone in the Display window. So my issues:

    -Auto update disabled

    -Missing desktop/screen saver buttons and tabs

    How can I fix these remaining issues? Thanks.Joke Bluescreen Fixes... Where?!?!?
    start%26gt;run%26gt;services.msc

    go to automatic updates and right click, properties, startup type = automatic. This is should make it start everytime windows starts. If all you want to do is start it up each time then on the right click go to restart.

    Hope this helped...and download AVG lol :P

    How can i completely get rid of Xp antivirus 08'?

    a few days ago i got Xp antivirus again, without choice. last time i got this i used a free spyware program and i got rid of it. Now its back. My program got rid of it, or it seemed. the shortcut was deleted and no more pop-ups, however I got a wallpaper saying it was needed to be cleaned (even though its fake) and i got a fake bluescreen screensaver that shows up saying there was a serious error (I eventually found out it was Xp antivirus). The first time i got it, i lost the ability to change my background %26amp; screensaver. At first i found a windows tweak that could restore it (and it did). however i noticed that when i restarted my pc the next morning, it was back. it seems that whenever the wallpaper was on my pc ran slower. Now ever time i restart my pc i get it again and again, its running alot slower (escpeicially the internet) than 3 days ago. And one of my online games is starting to run much slower than usual. what can i do to get rid of this annoying program, officialy. thanks for the feedback!How can i completely get rid of Xp antivirus 08'?

    Damn, that is a TROJAN, my sister in-law got it. You cannot delete it, you need a antivirus program, the program is located in ';C:\Program Files';, she got it out with that piece of s***, free Avast. So if Avast could do it, almost any antivirus could. Good luck, move quick!

    After you install, start the program and do an update.

    Exit the program.

    Reboot to ';Safe Mode';

    Run the scanner and delete anything it finds.

    If it tells you to reboot to delete the files...do so.

    Worked for me.
